It never works! It has to be a slow and easy enough progression with the opportunities taken when they occur. Someone else they know is looking into an "age-in-place" retirement home. Oh good! "So what do you think about that mom?" etc., etc. Sometimes the answers wind up being refreshingly open and interested under circumstances they never thought about before.Sheryl Karashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15635959513382233406noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4033626197396785772.post-48109691339539574212009-09-02T09:52:04.111-07:002009-09-02T09:52:04.111-07:00Great point about planning ahead instead of panick...Great point about planning ahead instead of panicking when things “fall apart.” Parents and their adult children should think realistically and practically when planning for the future. The option of a retirement or senior living community should be discussed when the parents are still capable of being involved in the process.Diana T.http://www.astongardens.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4033626197396785772.post-14855202779977567902009-06-04T22:40:16.709-07:002009-06-04T22:40:16.709-07:00Thank you so much for sharing this. Understanding ...Thank you so much for sharing this. Understanding our aging loved ones can be difficult. They do things that will make us exclaim, "What the heck?" at some point or another. But, we have to understand that they are not as sharp or as quick as they used to be. But for people who are still in their prime, try to put yourselves in their shoes. Try to understand where our seniors are coming from. The changes caused by aging are not easy to deal with after all.caring for seniorshttp://www.ladolceliving.comnoreply@blogger.com
